A Chocolate Tart for the Blues

I was feeling rather blue recently and I haven’t been in the best of health. So much, as a matter of fact that I decided to take a break, commute all the way from southern suburbia to Serendra and have the little bit of sweet solitude pictured above.

This is the Valrhona Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Tart from Sonja’s Cupcakes. ‘Tis a small piece, but it sure packs a punch in the flavor department. The creamy interior was lush and toothsome, studded with bits of roasted hazelnut. The ganache on top had a rather chewy, almost caramel-ly bite to it; very good, in my honest opinion.

The crust, alas, was a tad too crumbly for my taste. Crust notwithstanding, this was still a fine way to stave off the blues on a summer afternoon.
