In Which There is Pastry for a Sulky Day…

Pie? Yes, please!

Ever have one of those days when everything seems to be shot to hell?  You know the sort: those days when you can’t seem to do anything right and everyone tells you so.  The days when you feel ugly and stupid and utterly worthless.  Those times when the world is too much with you and too soon.

Days like these, I go completely bonkers and crave for pastry – specifically a slice (or two, even three) of apple pie.  Given the sort of day I’m having today, my sole source of solace has to be this individual French-style apple pie from Almon Marina.

Truth be told, it’s not necessarily the best in its class, what with some seriously sugary pastry and a rather mushy filling.  Under the circumstances, however, I want something cinnamon-spiced, apple-stuffed, disturbingly buttery and sugary – and this works like a charm.
